This tool works like a lathe. The club is secured in a V nest with the blade overlapping the ferrule and shaft. The club is spun by hand clockwise against the blade, shaving a thin layer of material with each turn. Thumb pressure against the blade holder controls material removal thickness.
After thinning down the ferrule flush with the hossel, rubing it with a lint free cloth dipped in acetone is enough to restore the shine.
A simple and efficient tool that enables clubmakers to turn down ferrules, flush with the hosel, without the need of a belt sander.
