Shaft Tip Drilling Chuck and Frequency Tip Weight
Universal Shaft Chuck
Golfmechanix Universal Shaft Chuck is designed to be used as both a frequency analyzer weight and a shaft tip I.D. drill guide. As a weight tip for frequency measurement, the universal chuck has been constructed to a 205 gram target weight. This is the same weight utilized for many of the frequency analyzers for shaft measurement, including our state-of-the-art Frequency Analyzer (#030120) and Optical Frequency Analyzer (#030220).
The universal shaft chuck may be used as a replacement weight for these and other shaft measurement devices. The tip end of the shaft chuck incorporates a drill bit guide. This is to assist with boring out a shaft tip that is solid with epoxy, once the head has been has been extracted from a club-head to allow air to escape from the hosel when the shaft is re-epoxied into another head.
Running a 5/32" bit or smaller through the chuck's drill guide will ensure that a perfectly parallel bore is drilled through the shaft's axis. It is important to avoid contacting the inner diameter walls of the shaft with the drill bit due to possible damage to structural integrity. The universal shaft chuck ensures that every drilling operation is 100% safe without any contact to the shaft's walls.
Universal Shaft Chuck is designed to be used as both a frequency analyzer weight and a shaft tip I.D. drill guide for unclogging epoxy when reshafting clubs. The 3.6 mm drill bit is included.
